Cotton, interfacing, laser cutter.

Origami Fabric takes the geometric aesthetic of 3D modeling software into textile and wearable material. A pattern of triangles created with interfacing gives structural form to fabric. With this project, I wanted to explore how the natural feel and flexibility of textile and the aesthetic of computerized tools could influence each other and affect draping. In a 3D modeling software, triangulation is created alongside surfaces. With Origami Fabric, the triangulation becomes the surface itself.
